Babies fledged the nest yesterday.
Is there anything cuter than a baby???
They spent the night in the back garden Aspen trees & gave me a perfect photo op this morning.
Feeding time!!!!
Right after I photographed two of the three babies, one of the adults flew in with breakfast.
It was one of those perfect moments of being in the right place at the right time....
The closest baby was the lucky one!
Happily fed, one sits contentedly while the other squawks, still hungry.
Not to worry, these birds are great parents.
Above: The adult moves away for a brief moment before flying off in search of more.
Now it's strangely quiet out front (where they raised their young in the Bur Oak.) I had gotten used to their constant vocalizations and "nesting" activities. It's a very happy feeling tho to know they successfully bred and raise a brood of babies in the garden that I tend.
Validation that what we do as gardeners makes a difference in this world ~ our hobby is so much more than beautifying the environment around us. I personally feel like I get back way MORE than I put in and these photos/this moment = a perfect example. :)
Love the beautiful photos but especially love what you wrote about us gardeners making a difference in the world - beautiful! Thank you my very talented friend for this awesome blog!
