Funny how you don't mind them so much when you're incapacitated and can't be outdoors anyway.
They're good for dog-watching (at least our new kitty thinks so ~ that's her head in the bottom left corner of the photos above & below)
She prefers when he's outside looking in, versus inside with her!
Sleeping is another good option.
Especially appealing after a meal and a romp outdoors.
My camera skills have gotten rusty so a day like this is perfect for practice.
More obviously needed...
I bet the squirrel wishes she hadn't been evicted from the flicker box today.
Before she moved in, flickers were regularly checking it out. As excited as I get by that, they never nest because the grackles & starlings always force them out (which causes me to take down the box altogether.)
Back inside: Paph 'Deperle' has a second bloom.
There's only one more bud left to open.
The oncidium orchid my brother gave me several winters ago has also opened. This one has taken to blooming every six months, lucky for me.
Nothing to do now but wait for the sun...
Love the pics of Butter and Ivy! Thought I'd check your blog one more time today to see if you posted and I was so happy to see you did. Your photos are always beautiful!

Snow again. My niece in Denver said it was coming for you. We've been enjoying better weather here. Hope you get some sun soon.

I don't think your camera skills have ever been rusty, Kathleen. You're a natural! Glad to hear the pets (and your beautiful houseplants) are keeping you entertained during your recuperation!

So sorry to hear about your knee, and the snow... but I love the new addition to your home. How adorable! Feel better soon and I hope your knee is mended in time for spring planting (if spring ever decides to arrive this year).

Your puppy is so cute. Mine loves to be out in the snow too. He always has a snowy nose when he comes back into the house. Alright Kathleen lets just tell this winter stuff to be gone. LOL! I know I am getting old because this has felt like the longest winter ever. Silly I know. I hope you get better and get out there to enjoy your spring garden soon. Your orchids will keep you company and give you some color at least. Get well.
