first buds unfurl; a plant on the verge of exquisite loveliness...
A testament to the very necessity of perennials ~ they bloom even when the gardener doesn't.
Amen to that.
For in this garden, there are still so many unplanted containers.
and excuses are running out for not having filled them.
Flats of annuals have been purchased ~ all they need is to be grouped and dug in.
A quick solution? Plop a large foxglove container into planter and call it good!
Also serves the dual purpose of bringing those marvelous thimbles to eye level.
A longer term fix can be arranged down the road...
Thank goodness some containers can stand on looks alone.
Meanwhile
hail to the perennials for covering my slack....
p.s. Regis remains "at large." :(
I am so sorry Regis is still missing, hugs to you...

You may have tried this already, but cats outside become more active as around dawn and dusk/evening. Maybe they feel safer in the dark. Walk your neighborhood during those times. And does he eat dry food? Maybe take a small bag with you and shake it if he'd be used to associating that sound with food. My thoughts are with you...I've been there myself and found my cat after 4 months.

Darn, I wish that little kitty would show up on your door step! I know it's mundane when your little Regis is missing, but I have to comment on those Peonies -- wow! Now you're ahead of me, because believe it or not, my Peonies haven't bloomed yet! We hit a cold snap, and they didn't want to come out to play. Probably this week. And hopefully Regis will be back this week for you, too.

The new containers are awesome Kathleen! We have to go to that flea market together some day. You find the most amazing things. Love the foxglove in the container! And your Bowl of Beauty is amazing!
