Our beautiful solid black part-Persian cat ~ Regis ~ who many of you have seen featured on this blog many times, slipped unnoticed out the screen door on Memorial Day evening.
I'd been having trouble getting the door to latch properly.
He's an indoor only cat (except if he's supervised like he was below) so I know he has to be frightened.
I searched all night that night. I've printed up flyers and passed them out to the whole neighborhood. I called the Humane Society. He wasn't wearing a collar but he's microchipped. I placed an ad on Craig's List.
I even put his litter boxes outside my front and back doors. The Humane Society suggested that. They said a cats pheromones are so strong, they can smell them up to two miles away. If he got disoriented, it should help him find his way home. I never knew that but I'm willing to try anything.
Can you think of anything else I can do??? I really, really, can't imagine not having him in our family.
Thank you for any suggestions. I'm desperate to find him.
I'm so sorry! I'd also contact the local vets so they'll have the heads up if someone brings in a newly found cat matching his description.

Oh, poor little guy and poor you. The litter boxes make sense. And if you're outside in your garden a lot, hopefully he'll eventually wander back. Sorry! Good luck!

Oh dear. I am so sorry to hear your pretty kitty is on the roam. I hope it has found its way home by now. We do get so attached to these four pawed babies.

I'm so upset about this Kathleen and I know exactly how you are feeling since I had the same thing happen with my dog Lexi over the weekend. I am praying that Regis comes home just like Lexi did. I am so sorry!

Oh I'm so sorry Kathleen... I hope he finds his way home soon. Our cat Midnight looks so much like Regis and lately he has been trying to sneak outside too... it's so easy for them to slip out without you noticing. Keep us posted.

I hope he comes home soon. From what I've read most pets don't stray more than a block away or so...good luck.
