we get that often enough in April.
Red Fox Squirrel with a face full of snow!
The story isn't the driving wind either (although that's none too pleasant)
The story is the FRIGID temperatures.
Actual temperature this morning was 15 degrees, with a wind chill of -1!!!!!!!!!!!!
my least favorite garden bird ~ the grackle.
Very unusual to have that kind of cold in the middle of April.
Snowy Aspen catkins.
Maybe it's apropos that Amaryllis 'Clown:'
and Amaryllis 'Razzle Dazzle' are blooming out of season:
Oh where, oh where did our April go??
Brrrrrrr - isn't it crazy! Let's hope it's the last snow that we get this year. Great photos as always!

I'm so sorry you're back to winter. This just sucks. Those poor animals. They look miserable. Hopefully the snow will melt quickly. Your amaryllis is gorgeous.
You asked about my hosta in a container. It's been there for about 4 years now. Finally a few weeks ago, I upsized the pot and added fresh soil. Last year it seemed to be in decline so I figured it needed a little boost. Our ground gets so dry in the summer so this is a great alternative. I've got several in the ground too but they're closer to the water faucet. Take care and stay warm.

Oh yes, this cold is the pits, isn't it? I just saw a weather report that Green Bay got so much snow they had to shovel. Ugh. We're just getting rain here, which is OK, except for folks who are flooded. I think my Crocuses are going to last a record length of time this spring. But I'm ready for a little warmth.
