It's hard to wake up on the wrong side of the bed when you look out the kitchen window and see this:
the arbor smothered in pink roses & honeysuckle.
bliss, bliss, bliss.
That's looking left. The view looking center is the birdhouse tuteur bed:
The view looking right:
Hawthorne tree in bloom (with ladder left over from last nights grackle eviction.)
The blooms are usually covered with bees & the sound of their buzzing noticeably loud.
Unfortunately, last week I learned the neighbor discovered a colony of bees in the spruce tree behind my house. Instead of calling a beekeeper, he called property management. You can guess what happened ~ extermination. It still makes me sick. I've seen very few ever since... :-(
Not out the kitchen window but next to my sink:
A double pink gloxinia!
No excuses to be grumpy, right?!!
What a lovely view you have - enjoy it

That's pretty sad about killing the bees. A beekeeper could have easily taken them away. Nonetheless the flowers will bring more and soon I am sure. Such pretty roses.

You have a real thing for peonies, don't you Kathleen? But who could blame you? It's gorgeous! I like the idea of a honeysuckle on my arbor. I have a Zepherine Drouhin on one side but on the other, the Golden Showers rose is not doing well. I'll give it one summer to perk up, then we can talk about honeysuckle! I did order a tree peony, a lovely pink one. I'm glad you found those seeds, mine aren't ready yet.

You have a beautiful view from your windows, Kathleen! Sometimes, I walk in the house, pose when I see a pretty corner of my garden through the window and run to get my camera. Because of that, I removed screens from many windows.
