on a mellow note, capping off a week of milder than normal temperatures.
It's been an absolute delight.
Especially since it came on the heels of 20+ inches of snow (end of Oct & beginning of Nov) which brought a sudden violent and premature end to Fall.
If the weather forecast is correct, tomorrows calendar flip also marks a switch in the outdoor thermostat as well ~ 5 to 8" of new snow and highs in the twenties. Ouch. That's a forty degree drop.
I doubt I'll be ready. I never am.
It will be DECEMBER tho so I guess it's inevitable???
Time to move the "party" indoors. At least we enjoyed the warmth while it lasted ~ hopefully it won't be TOO long before the mercury eeks upward.
Above: Amaryllis 'Red Lion' ~ originally purchased as 'Prince Carnival' but who can complain?!
I'll be back as soon as I dig out from under the Christmas decorations (and the snow)...
Beautiful rich red color in that amaryllis photo.

You are getting too much of that old white stuff already. I hope the weather men lied to you. LOL!

I'd say send some of the white stuff here, but it lasts way too long into the spring. We're getting snow this weekend, though. I'm definitely not ready. I hope you'll join in the "Lessons Learned" meme, now live on PlantPostings until Dec. 22. Happy Winter!

What a beautiful apple photo! And, I'm sorry you have so much snow already... hopefully you get a break for awhile!!
Call it Freudian? But I bought an amaryllis bulb for each my daughter and daughter-in-law. I'd intended they take them home after our Thanksgiving time together, but I forgot!!! Yipes?

I am eager to see your amaryllises this year! You always have beautiful ones!

Looks like your amaryllis opened just in time since those pretty pansies are going to be toast. :) I guess it had to happen sooner or later. Wasn't it just a few months ago we were complaining about how long winter is? And now it's upon us again. Oh well...stay warm!
