So many precious things are revealed at this time of the year. That Orioles nest is interesting looking. :)

That Passion Vine is really taking off. I hope you still have it in a pot. (underground rhizomes on this baby are fierce)
Sorry I missed your story of the nest and the ill-fated occupants. I love seeing the nests this time of year...fall is like a scavenger hunt.

Kathleen, your photos are always fabulous! I love the one of the Oriole's nest especially.
What a great find.
I missed the sad tale of the poor birdies.
Sedum Angelina has such beautiful fall color.
Berries are so photogenic.
The Passion Vine may not have produced any blooms but it's still pretty climbing over your arbor.
I'm glad you had such beautiful fall weather. Ours was a mixed bag so we sure did appreciate the good days when we had them. There are never enough for me!
This week has been decidedly wintry and not condusive to working outdoors. Boo hoo!
I slowed down on blog reading and posting this past summer too. Like you, I'm hoping to catch up a little now. It's always lovely to hear from you, and so enjoyable catching up with you :)

Sometimes I am surprised where I find birds' nests. A vireo nest in one of the native azaleas, just 3' off the ground. Beautifully constructed. I missed the accounting of the Orioles. Were they hit by a car? :(

It's always interesting to see the garden down to its bare bones. Then it has a different kind of beauty.
