I didn't know Pickerel could be pink!! Very nice. I do not know the Cerinthe major purpurascens at all, so I Googled it. WOW!! What a cool plant. Please take more pictures.

Pond plants do need a ton of sunlight to grow well, but you know, I like a pond in shade. I have some horsetails growing in mine and they do great, no blooms though. My little pond is in full shade. It also grows less algae. The pickerel is very pretty.

How fun to have a pond and watch plants in it come into bloom. All these are new to me so will be interested in seeing the 2 buds open.

Could you trim the oak a little to let in more sun??

My Pickerelweed has it's first actual bloom too, and it was very interesting to watch it open. So fuzzy!
I love the Cerinthe, I always thought they were blue, but yours looks pink.
I will send those seeds during your month, I hadn't thought about that :)

I'm checking a few of my annuals everyday hoping for buds.

What size plant does your Cerinthe major purpurascens make and did you direct sow the seed or start them inside? Can't wait to see it in full bloom.

Hi Marnie. I started them indoors but very quickly moved them outdoors. They are only about a foot high right now but the seed description said they'd reach 24-30 inches.

Catherine, the cerinthe are supposed to be purple. I don't know why they are looking pinkish??

Beckie ~ I've thought about trimming. Just hate to do it to my favorite tree!
