Somewhere I read that we would all be better off if we spent more time with people under the age of six and over the age of 70. There are days I couldn't agree more. Today I was lucky enough to lunch with my neighbor who is in the latter category. We celebrated her birthday (which was yesterday) and I wished her many more. She's a treasure. And a tea lover. The tea lover is what prompted me to think of giving her this box of tea posies:
I really wanted to see her try one. They look fascinating to me. Have you all tried these? The box contained a medley of six different teas/flowers:
What garden lover wouldn't like a tea that "bloomed??" I may just have to break down and buy myself a box to watch the tea posies unfurl into what looks to be gorgeous blossoms. My friend/neighbor said they looked "interesting" so I hope she likes them and that they taste good too. Anyone out there who can verify this?? Brewing up a pot of tea takes on new meaning if the tea bag "flowers," know what I mean?
Those do look interesting Kathleen, I've never seen them before.

Kathleen I haven't had one myself yet (I really want to try them too !) but I have seen them unfurl on TV and they look awesome ! I'm not sure what flavor the tea has but I would be so fascinated watching the bloom , I don't think I would care ? LOL

Kathleen, I've seen these in a catalog somewhere. They looked quite interesting. Perhaps your neighbor would allow you to take a photo when she uses one?? You can give us your impression when she does. I'm a little leery...

What a great idea for a gift, Kathleen! My husband had a cup of 'blooming tea' at a friend's dinner party, while the rest of us had coffee. He said it was good. I think it was jasmine flavored. We all watched it 'bloom' and found it fascinating :)

What a sweet gesture. I know she enjoyed her lunch with you as much as you did. I have never seen these but they look very interesting. What a wonderful unique gift for a tea lover or anyone for that matter.

I've seen them in stores, but haven't tried them myself.

I've never seen them. It's so cute, I'd buy it for that reason alone! Jasmine tea is delicious!

I've never seen these but it sounds nice. Just the tea would be a great gift but the blooms are a pretty bonus.
