I know the calendar says it the first part of February but yesterday I got in the mood to spring clean decorate. So forget the date, I'm moving forward into the next season. Inspired by this photo in a recent Pottery Barn catalog:
I decided to create a few little "gardening" vignettes of my own. Starting with the buffet:
Okay, so not a good photo, but included in the arrangement is one pot of amaryllis bulbs, one vintage watering can, some old glass bottles, my cats oat grass and one mini vignette inside a cloche ~ here's a better look at that:
Isn't that bird in the nest the sweetest? I think I'm "into" birds. I mean I have been outside for a while but I've never brought them inside before. Now I see them everywhere (and eggs too) and I wonder what took me so long. Combining them with the greenery really makes me think of spring and "fresh" and alive. I'm so glad I did this, it's making me happy today. Here's another little scene I compiled on my coffee table:
Surprise, surprise, another bird! With my new "Christmas" gardening books, another cloche & a birdcage. Love it too. Isn't it funny how just small changes can really perk up a room? I'm so glad that catalog came in the mail. It sure inspired me and got rid of the winter blues.
That turned out really nice. I also love the birds inside. I really like the cloches. I think you've inspired me to get a little garden vignette set up too.

WOW, your home reminds me of your artwork! HA! Then again, why would that surprise me? You decorate your room artistically; and so do you decorate a card or item artistically! Your style rocks!

Nicole, you are the SWEETEST! Honestly. I need you to call my house and make a recording. Then if I have a down day, I'll listen to it!! :-)

It does give it a new look Racquel. That's why I like it. I think things were looking so bland since the Christmas decorations came down. Definitely perks it up.

Great new looks Kasey! I've always used birds in my decorating, because my name is Robin! It's just a natural fit.

Hi Kathleen, I am 'into birds' too, more than ever, the past 2 or 3 years. Your vignettes are lovely. Will you come to my house and arrange some for me? Please?:)

lol Jan. You're so nice. I bet you could put together a nice arrangement yourself. Do you collect birds then??
