Just because the garden season is over, don't think you have to put all your beautiful garden pots into storage until next spring. I use particular favorites all year long (after a thorough cleaning, of course) and if you haven't considered it, I urge you to think about it now. What showcases summer annuals:
can also be a gorgeous container for a fall centerpiece:
and it doesn't stop there! Intrigued?? Last year, I used this same urn as a base for one of my holiday trees:
(the photo is a little dark, but I think you can make out the shape of the urn). It turned out to be a great alternative to the traditional tree stand, skirt, etc. Never be afraid to think outside the box. Stack pumpkins on them or in them, pot up a little tree (fake or real) and string lights on it for a holiday decoration, etc., etc. The sky is the limit. If you do this already or try it for the first time, send me a link, I'd love to see your ideas.
What a clever way to repurpose your beautiful containers through the seasons! I love the Christmas tree in the urn!

Thank you Racquel. I loved my tree in the urn too. I'll probably repeat that this year with one of my trees.

I'd love to visit there Gail and you are more than welcome here anytime!! I have recovered, thank you. Yesterday I even managed to get everything (except my black tree) packed away. I'm ready to start over now! :-)

Such a clever girl! Your center piece is lovely and I do like the Christmas tree in the urn. Gives it a stately look. I can also see the urn filled with Christmas balls of gold and silver.

I LOVE it! What a perfect way for a gardener to show off their Christmas tree. I bet it would do a good job of keeping the cats out of the water too.

Thank you Cinj!!! It would most certainly keep cats out of the tree water!
