Never heard of it, but as long as it isn't harming anything around it or rampantly spreading all over the garden I'd say leave it alone. It sure looks pretty!

Wow-that looks like Purple Homestead Verbena to me..interesting how plants can look so alike. It is pretty.

Thanks for the comments Cinj & Anna. I'm going to keep on leaving it alone for now (although if it started spreading around from my plants, I'd feel bad). I think it's pretty too.
