carried away

Regis in his carrier

Regis is ready to rumble.  I brought out his carrier yesterday and he practically raced to get inside.  Actions like those, deserve to be rewarded!  So I zipped him in and took him outside for a little fresh air and outdoor entertainment.  His eyes were big as saucers trying to look thru all the mesh panels at once.  Very stimulating for an indoor cat!  I sure hope he gives me a repeat performance next time he has to visit the vet.

finger lickin' good

Regis

that's what getting "down & dirty" on the pavement means to my "indoor only" cat.  If he actually manages to make it out the door, he immediately drops and rolls.  Every once in awhile, I have to let him take his pleasure.  We all need our "fixes" in life, right?!  and his is such a simple one.  :-)

Headed to the Botanic Gardens this morning, will share photos later.  Enjoy the weekend!

Whiskers

Whiskers The neighbors cat.  A shot from my latest pet sitting.  I have to say he was most cooperative, which is more than can be said about my own fur baby.  All I had to do was tell him how handsome he was and he was putty for my lens.  Lapping it up and giving me exactly what I wanted.  I LOVE it when that happens, don't you?!!

double trouble

Corgi_duo1_2 Aren't these two of the cutest, happiest faces you've seen in quite the longest while?   Their "smiles" are so infectious.  One Corgi can keep you grinning the whole day but two of those active little energizer bunnies are totally over the top.  This picture is from a photo shoot I did over the weekend of my neighbors "granddogs."  You wouldn't believe what we went thru to just get a few good shots.  When you want one with both Corgis together, it's darn near impossible (especially considering they are only 1 & 2 yrs old)!  They ran circles around the yard for 30 minutes before we ever got this far.  If only there was a way to harness such vigor!   Sit girls.  Stay.  STAY.  Puh leeze Stay.  GOOD girls.  snap, snap, snap!  hooray!  gotcha!   What adorable little cutie pies.

May Showers

Disclaimer:  If you have an aversion to dressing pets in clothing, scroll down at your own risk....Rainy_day_butter1_2

"Rain, rain, don't go away, come again another day, so Butter can go out & play (in his little duckie Raincoat!!)"  Our first rain showers of the year arrived one day late to technically be called April Showers but that's okay.  Our weather has been so wacky this year that we'll have June flowers instead of May ones!!   Who could be upset about getting wet when they look as cute as this??!!!    Happy Friday!!                            Rainy_day_butter

little robin redbreast

Snowy_robin "Little Robin Redbreast sat upon a tree,
Up went pussycat and down went he,
Down came pussycat, away Robin ran,
Says little Robin Redbreast, "Catch me if you can."

Little Robin Redbreast jumped upon a wall,
Pussycat jumped after him, and almost had a fall.
Little Robin chirped and sang and what did pussy say?
Pussycat said "Meow", and Robin flew away."

A little glimpse into our world yesterday.  I think the weather was too inclimate for even the birds.  The wind howled and the snow blew sideways.  My cat is indoors only so he has to content himself with imaginary chases and birdwatching thru glass.  I'm sure this is one Robin who is happy about that!Regis3_2

snug as a bug

Cat_in_a_basket1 What is it about cats and "squishing" themselves into small places??  It seems like the tighter the fit, the better??  Here's mine the other day as I was cleaning out my office.  As you can see, he barely squeezed into this old, little basket but it didn't matter, he was happy as could be.  Motor purring loudy.  How great to be so easily amused.

and now it's Monday & back to work. Cat_in_a_basket

honk honk

What's brown, has a black head & neck with a broad white cheek and fills the sky with a honking clatter when flying??  Canadian geese of course!  hee heeCanadian_geese

Huge flocks passed overhead yesterday during my daughter's first spring horseback session.  The sky was clear and bright blue, a beautiful seasonal day.  Quiet too with only the fluted music of the meadowlarks breaking the serenity of the morning.  Well, quiet that is until the geese started flying!!  We don't usually hear them in the summer???  Not sure why, we always have a few that remain in the area year round.  I mostly associate them with winter months tho and since Spring makes its official grand entrance this coming week, they will begin to disperse.  DoodleThe whole goose photo opportunity occured because of this lovely girl, the object of my daughters deepest affections, her faithful stead Doodle!  Doodle, my daughter & riding are the reasons I stand outside almost every Saturday morning of the year.  (Does that make me a "horse mom" instead of a "soccer mom?!")  lol  I enjoy those mornings tremendously (remind me I said that those AM's I'm freezing!).   Besides the pleasure I get from watching the love affair of a girl with her horse, I get time to reflect and the side benefit of capturing many a magical moment including geese in a waning winter sky.  It's a happy Saturday ritual.

doggie spa

Bow_wow_grooming I just have to share this photo of the adorable little cottage where my Lhasa Apso goes for what I like to call his "spa" day (he doesn't appreciate that concept the same way I do).  lol.  It's a small shop built behind the groomers home and reminds me every visit of the kind of play house I would have loved as a child.  The grooming tables are by the front door with a bath tub & crates in the rear.  Butter is never as thrilled as I am to visit Ms Jessi but he comes home looking & smelling so sweet.  Yesterday when I picked him up he had none of the ribbons or bows or bandanas he sometimes exits wearing but look how precious he is anyway!!!!  ;-)Butter_spa_day1_2   (excuse the wet mouth & ear tips ~ he ran right inside for a big drink before I could snap a picture)

things we do for love

Cat_grass

What's this??????  No, it's nothing to do with gardening.  Well, sorta, kinda, maybe, because it involves soil, pots & seeds but really it's all about him:Regis4

These are fresh grass shoots from the latest planting of cat grass.  Not for my yard but for guess who.  How spoiled is that??!!  I seriously grow it for me because if I didn't, all my houseplants would be chewed to the roots.  He's a green freak.  but a really pretty one so it's all good.
