The perfect illustration of how a photo is worth a million words....
Early AM ~ Oriental lily 'Stargazer' begins to open:
Fresh faced & dewy-eyed, right??? (just like I start the day!!) ;-)
Eight hours & 100 degrees later:
Exactly how I feel ~ wilted, drained, depleted....
p.s. 'Stargazer' did perk up after I watered but never completely regained her original vigor & bright shine.... :-(
Hi Kathleen, It has been blistering hot here too and dry! Really dry. We have had no significant rainfall for weeks. It is sad to see your lily live such a short life. Still, it was a beauty.

I am so sorry Kathleen and I understand completely~that's how fast my lilies bowed out this summer. I have cut flowers in the kitchen~'Stargazer' is in the bouquet and it's like having smellavision as I look at your lovely photos. gail

Awwww, poor Stargazer! That "before and after" about wraps up the mood this summer, doesn't it?! I hope you get some relief from the heat and drought soon!

Great contrast of how the poor lily changed over the course of the day. One hundred degrees is just nuts!
