This year, all on it's own, is blooming in my new favorite form ~ a standard!
Okay, maybe not the best photo to showcase that effect ~ let's try again:
See how it gathered itself around the top of the obelisk ~ almost as if it had a premonition about my 2012 fixation!
Never have I loved it more....
Also loving the Canterbury bells which are going full steam.
The double purples are my favorite but it's hard to discriminate when the single cups are lovely.
Made even better next to the show-stopping yellow foxtail lilies:
Anything special you're loving right now??? Maybe it's too hard to narrow down??
I'm loving your garden! Short of that daylilies are looking good this year. Thanks for the info on the perfume. I'll keep my eye peeled for it.

I always love looking at your Foxtail lilies. I planted some Shelford pink last fall and am anxious for them to start opening. I love your Canterbury bells. The doubles are gorgeous.

We planted a Canterbury bell last year only and it's doing great! I need more. Love it when plants behave as intended, your clematis is lovely. And our foxtail lilies are rocking our garden, just in time for the garden party we hosted on Sunday.

Now Kathleen, I know a standard is a beautiful thing, but there are those that would not prefer their clematis to be bare on the bottom! Yours however, is lovely. Honestly, I've never heard of a clematis standard. Is it common? I finally saw a violet tubeflower the other day, but it was huge and pricey. Maybe some day.
