has earned it's own post (not because it's beautiful, although there is no dispute there) but for being the first clematis to EVER bloom in April! At least in this garden...
It's not just one lonely bloom either ~ it's in true "full-on-bloom-time" mode!
You have to love that aspect of this wacky spring weather.
On the flip side, the above average warm temperatures & below average precipitation have already sparked talk of water rationing in our area. If something doesn't change soon, it could very well become a reality. :-(
Today is a day to shrug that worry off tho (momentarily) & to enjoy the novelty ~ for who knows if it will happen in another year or not? I would say all things are possible and all bets are off for 2012 ~ wouldn't you agree?!!
Why does the weather always have to be in extremes anymore? My roses are going to be blooming with the Rhododendrons if they keep going. LOL! Unheard of in Ohio. I guess we have to take what we got though. Your clematis is lovely Kathleen. I love that shade of pink in the blooms. I hope you get some rain soon. We got dumped on this morning.

I can't hear you. My eyes are so busy taking in the loveliness of Asao! What a stunner. And to bloom in April? Unheard of. And yet here it is in all its glory. Fingers crossed that there won't be any water rationing.

Yes, I agree--all bets are off on the weather for the remainder of 2012. I'd like to have a normal summer and fall, but you never know. We've had a colder April than our March--talk about wacky! Beautiful Clematis shots!

Hi Kathleen, Your early bloomer is very pretty. After a super long dry spell, we finally have had some rain. The garden practically sighed in relief. Who knows what summer will be like after this wacky spring!

I couldn't agree more with your previous post, it's definitely feeling like May around here. But the last few days have been rainy and cooler, so that's good. Need some sense knocked back into the garden. Love that clematis.

I think I have that same Clematis and mine is growing like crazy, but no blooms yet. A nice surprise to have it blooming so early!

Definitely deserving of it's own post, it's beautiful! I too am enjoying the early flowers, my clematis is blooming too. LOVE! I have got to get me one of those violet tubeflowers.
