I ended the last post with a photo of this stunning perennial but when I thought about it further, I thought it totally deserved its own special post. I mean, just look at it (and this is just a little section):
It's another perennial (like Astrantia) in its third year and finally producing more than a handful of blooms.
'Bowl of Beauty' is one of those plants that, when you first lay eyes on it, you know you have to get a closer look. At least that's how I felt when I saw it blooming at our local Botanic garden.
Rightly so....
Even the bees agree ~ but they have to climb underneath the center "frill" to reach the "good stuff:"
I love it when I can track down something this beautiful and enjoy it in my own garden (at my leisure).
Just gorgeous!! I have 10 different kinds of peonies (including Bowl of Beauty) and adore each one. I can't wait to see mine (still buds).
Peonies are my fav flower. My grandmother's house front was all peony bushes and I recall tending to them with her and always loving them. Ver special!
Have a wonderful week full of blooms. :)

Isn't it satisfying when perennials finally settle in and start to put on a good show? The flowers have such a pretty combination of fluffy centre and large petalled exterior. Plus the colour pairing of yellow nestled inside the pink. Is the scent as strong as other peonies?

Beautiful images of these peony blossoms. I want to touch the cool petals - they always feel so lovely.

This might be my favorite Peony. It definitely deserves its own post and you graciously did it justice.

Amazing! Peonies are great cut flowers, too. I wrote one of my first posts about Peonies. Your Bowl of Beauty is incredible!

Your pictures are so beautiful that I had to leave a comment here too. The astrantia in the previous post is stunning too. I think this is the same variety I just planted (hope so anyway!).
P.S. I am glad that you were able to find a double flowering almond. The blooms are not long lived, but are every bit as lovely as roses.
