and his dastardly prediction of 6 more weeks of winter ~ we're going with "Spring's-just-around-the corner" at our house. I'm finally over Christmas trees (which includes our Valentine tree) and I'm moving full-steam ahead to the next season. I replaced the Valentine tree with a Spring (could be Easter??) cloche arrangement:
hauled the hyacinth bulbs out of refrigeration (where they've been chillin' since Nov):
and brought home a clump of daffodils from the supermarket to brighten our table:
Yes, indeedy. We're moving full force into spring and we won't back down! Unless we get smacked down ~ Mother Nature definitely has the power to do that. Meanwhile tho, we'll do everything we can to act/think/pretend it's spring! The power of positive thinking ~ can we make it happen???!!!
Mother Nature delivered a back-hander to eastern Canada last night...and it's still frigid today. But, if we can just get through this short month, March always brings days full of promise. :) Love your springy thingies.

I love your attitude....who cares what a groundhog says??? Take control where you can and bring spring indoors :^)

I applaud your decision to go ahead and act "as if." Beautiful cloche arrangement; that bunny rabbit is so sweet on his bits of grass. :)

I was in denial in December but the winter blues have settled in. Hard to pretend it's spring with the snowing falling outside. Maybe I could get some blackout drapes:)
I pay no attention to the groundhog thing. It is spring here in April and never before. Still, it really helps to brighten the house up with pretty flowers.

I'm with you on moving on to Spring. I put away the snowman doormat today and the pine cones and other winter decor is going away this weekend.
I love that bunny under glass! I wish I had planned ahead with some hyacinth bulbs for now too.

You could go with the southern version of Puxatawny Phil. His name is General Beauregard. He did NOT see his shadow so spring is near. I have those hyacinth vases too. I love them! One of mine is about to bloom. I had a heck of a time finding them. Where did you get yours?
