My favorite chickens are those fluffy white ones. I'm not good with names, but that's okay. I wouldn't mind having chickens either, but I think Cheesehead would have a fit. It's against the zoning in our neighborhood anyway so I guess I'll just have to go visit OFB for my chicken fix.

As far as a farmer gene, I think I have one too. I've never lived or grew up on a farm, but my grandpa was a farmer. There may be something to it! Nothing to be ashamed of or anything, some of the best people I know are farmers.

Shady Gardener

Hi! I grew up on a farm. We had chickens. I gathered eggs, etc. Most of our chickens were the white "leghorns." But my mom Always ordered just a few exotic chicks every year. Sometimes there were topknots. Sometimes there were fancy leggings. It was fun. :-)

I'm in the same boat with you on the zoning Cinj. Maybe someday...

I also revised my post after reading your comment because I think that came out wrong. I meant nothing bad toward farmers (since obviously I have it in my blood), and I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Kathleen

Oh, you're so lucky Shady Gardener. I *imagined* it would be fun too.
